The Blue Knights was the drum corps of Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi.
The membership wanted badly to participate in Mardi Gras festivities in New Orleans, just up the road, in 1960, but military regulations forbade it. To bypass the rules, the corps changed its name to the Biloxi Barons Drum & Bugle Corps, civilianized their uniforms, and appeared in several Fat Tuesday parades.
